Text Box: Welcome to the April edition.
As this edition goes out I’m currently promoting Coonamble at the NSW Caravan, Camping and 4WD Super show. I’ll also be assisting with the consumer launch of the extended Great Inland Way touring route which now runs from Sydney to Cairns and Cooktown through Gulargambone and Coonamble. Congratulations to Coonamble Arts Alive and Coonamble Streets Ahead for their successful CASP applications. Click here for more details.
During the last month I helped the organizing committee write a submission to host the 2008 NSW Women’s Gathering in the Shire and we should find out if we are successful in June. Council has taken a pro-active role in support of the 2007 Moorambilla Festival and Cr David Taylor will be chairing a management committee. Click here to visit the Moorambilla Web site.
The Coonamble Historical Day on Text Box: 10th March was a great success with a large number of first time visitors to both the Coonamble Archives buried beneath the Council Chambers and to the Coonamble Museum.
We are fortunate this month to have our first cabin accommodation at the Riverside Caravan park and spa suites at the Castlreagh Lodge opening for business and these are welcome additions to our product range, more information below.
Congratulations to the outgoing Royal Easter Showgirl, Jillian Kilby from Coonamble who yesterday handed over her crown. Jillian has been a great Ambassador for the area. Click here for more.
Don’t forget the Countrylink Inland NSW Tourism Awards. Click here to find out more. NOTE: Our local radio station needs your help-click here

Text Box: Coonamble now has two new options for accommodation. The Castleragh Lodge Motel has just completed three new luxury suites on the site of the ‘Wagon Wheels’ restaurant. These spacious rooms all contain corner spa baths– a first for Coonamble. The original dining room is unrecognisable but the new rooms retain the distinctive bay windows. Feel free to drop in and ask Terry or Gemma for an inspection. Meanwhile on the Southern side of town Denise has fitted out the two
