Text Box: The Coonamble Shire Tourism newsletter is produced by  Coonamble Shire Council to involve community and industry in the development of tourism in the shire.   The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and  team leaders as required for specific projects  Forthcoming projects include a Coonamble Heritage Brochure, Quambone promotional material, and a new Coonamble Shire brochure. 20 years ago– April 1987: 
   1/4/1987-Pat & Allan White at the Sons of the Soil Hotel are now taking tour bookings from Sydney.  They have a coach of 60 coming in for Easter and a number of coaches booked for May. Allan also laughed off suggestions that he had resigned as the council delegate on the North Western Tourist Association and the Gateway to the Real Outback Sub-Regional Tourist Committee.
Easter Screenings at Quambone Cinema will be ‘Top Gun’ and ‘Back to the Future’.  Phone 7 for bookings
As a result of a working bee held at Warrena Weir on Saturday water is now connected to the BBQ area.  President of the Coonamble Aquatic Club, Ted Granville, told the Times Tony Zumbo donated the grass which was laid in front of the kiosk.
Numerous letters in April 1987  to the Editor and articles concerning the tourism committee and Chamber of Commerce and a difference of opinion between Mr Ellis and Kevin Tyerman.
40 years ago– April 1967:
6/4/1967-Official opening and blessing of the new convent High School last Sunday by the Bishop of Bathurst the most Reverend A.R.E. Thomas.   Council to seek restoration of the Wednesday train to Coonamble.
6/4/1967-The Minister for Decentralisation and Development (DEAD), The Hon. J.B. Fuller will visit Coonamble Tuesday next. A grazier of the Coolah District Mr Fuller is conversant with country needs.
27/4/1967-150 returned men and women took part in the ANZAC day parade. The ranks of the 1914-1918 Coonamble veterans were noticeable thinner. The march to the Ambulance Station memorial was led by Digger Frank Fish.
27/4/1967-New Tourist Officer takes up appointment. Mr Brian Welsh recently appointed Tourist Officer with the Castlereagh Valley Tourist Association arrived in Coonamble.
 50 years ago— April 1957:
Permewan Wright Ltd has Lenten food specials. Smoked Haddock, Capstan and Sea Kist Salmon 7/- and 12/- Phone 11 for home deliveries
11/4/1957– Last Thursdays meeting of Coonamble Shire Council resolved to inform the Warrumbungle National Park Trust that it would provide toilet facilities at the campsite for tourists at no cost to the trust.
