Text Box: Welcome to the February/March edition. As usual there are plenty of things happening around Coonamble Shire and March is particularly busy. I’ve attached the poster for the Coonamble Historical Day on 10th March as it is a rare opportunity to see inside some of our historical attractions. As well as the Museum and archives both the Plaza Theatre and Monterey café will open their doors. There are also some changes to the Coonamble Rodeo & Campdraft this year, for more details see page 3. Coonamble Shire and in particular two eight two eight Gulargambone received fantastic publicity when they won the General Tourism Services category at the Australian Tourism Awards on 23rd February. To see the full list of winners click here or visit page 2 for the full story. Congratulations to all the volunteers and in particular the committee for all their hard work. This will generate increased visitation to the region and I’m currently working with the committee to increase their Text Box: opening hours and days. Gulargambone also hosted over 360 people at their Dinner Under the Stars on Saturday night including many from out of the region
Please note that the Marthaguy Picnic Races have had a date change and are now to be held on 1st September 2007.
