The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and  team leaders as required for specific projects  Forthcoming projects include a Coonamble Heritage Brochure, Quambone promotional material, and a new Coonamble Shire brochure. 20 years ago– February 1987: 
   The local Bicentennial committee met last week with an attendance of 13.  Bicentennial grants were announced for the following projects:  Warrena Weir, John Oxley Memorial, Coonamble Historical Society (Museum) and Joan McKenzie for her book on the History of Coonamble & District 
18/2/87– The Pilliga Road has reared its ugly head once again as desperate road users have formed the Pilliga Road Safety Action Group.
40 years ago– February 1967:
COONAMBLE TIMES-Largest circulation in the Central plains!  Single Copy 7 cents.  Circulating in the towns of  Coonamble, Gulargambone, Baradine, Quambone, Pilliga, Gwabegar, Carinda, Combara and Mt Tenandra.  Printed and published by Coonamble Newspapers Pty Ltd at Eason’s Lane Coonamble.
National Service– Attention all Male persons residing in the Coonamble area.  British subjects or non-British subjects ordinarily resident in Australia whose 20th Birthday falls between 1/1/1967 and 6/2/1967 must register for National Service between 23/1/1967 and 6/2/1967

9/2/1967 Mr David Hughes, The Minister for Public Works will officially open the Coonamble Swimming Centre next Sunday at 2.30pm
50 years ago— February 1957:
7/2/1957- Lottery Win to Coonamble:  First prize of 6000 pounds in Wednesdays lottery came to Coonamble.  It was shared by Mrs A.V. Casey of Floyd Street and Mrs Maher Snr of Aberford Street.  Mr D. Stewart of the Rural Bank informed the two ladies of their win.  Mrs Maher was greatly affected by the news and had to receive medical attention but had recovered by late yesterday afternoon.
