The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and  team leaders as required for specific projects  Forthcoming projects include a New Coonamble Maps, Coonamble Heritage Brochure, Quambone promotional material, and a new Coonamble Shire brochure. 30 years ago– May1977: 
   Cecil Firth & Co Corner Market at 31 Tooloon Street would sell you 500gm Kraft Cheese for 95c and IXL Spaghetti for 25c
4th May 1977-The Rodeo dinner was held at the Coonamble Bowling club and attended by 150 people. MC Tim Roberts called on President John to say a few words and then Tim presented life membership to John Lundholm, Edgar Davidson, Harry Hooper, John Joiner, Lionel Elliot, Ted McMahon, Ron Funnell, Rod Pike, Joan Cookson & Peter Cookson.
11th May 1977-Last Saturday was the Gulargambone Show and a large crowd cheered on TV Star Miss Pat McDonald better known as Dorrie Evans from the show ‘Number 96’ as she opened the show. Mr Ian Hunter of ‘Boree’ was most gracious in offering his plane for Miss McDonalds trip from Sydney.  18th May 1977– SHOW WASHED OUT– Rain over the past few days has forced the abandonment of the Coonamble Show which was to have been held on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Mrs Trish Negus, Chief Stewardess of the Pavilion exhibits was most disappointed as she dismantled the displays she had spent days creating.
40 years ago– May 1967:
11th May 1967– Man killed by Coonamble Train: A man was killed in a collision between his car and the Coonamble Diesel Train at the Cobbora Road level crossing at Dubbo last week.
4th May 1967– Boost to Tourism-The Castlereagh Valley Tourist Association will receive an added boost now that an announcement has been made that a 150’ Telescope will be built at Siding Springs newly appointed Tourist Officer Mr Brian Welsh said in Coonamble this week
 50 years ago— May 1957:
16/5/57 SHOW SUPPLEMENT: Coonamble’s First Show held on 3 June 1883 on a bitterly cold day. Mr G.D. Lane was President and the prominent men who were veteran pioneers in forming the show society were: Andrew Tobin, Willie Tobin, T.M Keogh, Richard Rouse, Vincent Downing, Mark Herman, D McMahon,  David McCullough, George Blackett, William Crook, & Edward Flood
23/5/57 Capable Women’s Work: Of particular interest to feminine visitors to the Coonamble Show Pavilion was the excellent display of exhibits in the ‘What a capable woman can do classes’
30/5/07 The local member Mr J.B. Renshaw  attended the meeting last week of the Warrumbungle National Park Trust.  A decision was made to erect sign posts showing the direction of the park from Coonamble & Gilgandra
