Text Box: Outback Arts is the peak arts and cultural organisation for the far west region as defined by Regional Arts NSW. The area includes the Shires of Walgett, Coonamble, Cobar, Warren, Brewarrina and Bourke.  Outback Arts has recently unveiled a new web site which provides detailed information on the services  they provide.  Links on the site provide access to the latest information on funding, events and projects and also detailed information on the organization, staff and board.  Visitors can now subscribe through the site to receive an e-bulletin www.outbackarts.com.au

This week Coonamble was declared a Green zone, hopefully paving the way for an end to the Equine Influenza outbreak.  Inside you’ll find information on how to get involved in the restoration of the Coonamble Railway Station by joining ‘Back on Track’ as a member. Coonamble will be hosting the 2008 NSW Women’s Gathering next year and the organizing committee has already prepared excellent calendars to promote the event. Text Box: A new exhibition was launched at two eight two eight in Gulargambone last weekend with a cocktail function.         The exhibition is titled ’Global Husbandry’  and will run until 23rd December. Bourke Poet Andrew Hull read his Gulargambone poem. The artist, Christine Townend is chair of trustees of Help in Suffering Animal Shelter based in Jaipur in Rajasthan, India.   She has held three successful solo art exhibitions.  Her work concerns the human relationship with animals, the natural world and agriculture. A book, “Christine’s Ark”, (John Little, Macmillan 2006) has been published about her life and work for animals.
