Text Box: Warrumbungle Cluster

Representatives from Warrumbungle, Gilgandra and Coonamble Shires met recently to formalise the Warrumbungle Cluster.  The cluster will play an important role in the NSW Heart of Country campaign and will see increased marketing co-operation between the three council areas.    The Destination Development Workshop in Gilgandra last month identified significant product strengths and the need for the cluster to work together to promote these.  Central NSW Tourism has recently unveiled a new logo and web site.  For more information on Central NSW Tourism click here

Ten pieces of artwork from Coonamble Shire have been on display in Sydney during November as part of the Festival of Fishers Ghost in Campbelltown.  The display featured work by Margie Pye, Margie Beck, Jamie Hamilton, Alison Dent, Beryl Butler, James Hartridge, Nioka Horan, Pat Calvert, Rebecca McIntyre and Anita Smith.  Coonamble Arts Alive and the new president James Hartridge assisted Council staff with selecting the art.  Already two items have been sold with one being purchased by the Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Aaron Rule.  Negotiations are already underway for the 2008 exhibition and a stronger link with the Campbelltown Arts Centre.

TRA also predicts 87.2 million domestic visitor nights in NSW for 2007, compared with 76 million nights for Queensland and 54 million for Victoria. These figures confirm once again that NSW is the premier destination for overseas visitors – 67% of all first time visitors to Australia visit our State.
