![Text Box: As part of the Visual Arts Special Initiative Project an regional Indigenous Arts website is in development. This has been developed in response to feedback from groups and individuals in the region within the recent Regional Indigenous Cultural Development Strategy and consultancy “OUR LIVING ARTS & CULTURE”. The site represents Indigenous Arts and Culture in the region as living and dynamic. It is envisioned that the site will be a permanent info/marketing/exhibiting tool for emerging and established Indigenous visual artists in the Outback Arts region (this can include people who want to make art to sell or those who make art for themselves, their family, or community). It will be searchable by artist, location, and language group (if indicated). Opportunity for other art-forms to be represented on the site will be developed in the future. Artists will be able to create and upload an artist profile including digital images of their paintings by logging on to the website and creating a user name. To make the site as accessible as possible designated “FACILITATORS” will be able to upload several artists work. [If you are interested in becoming a facilitator please get in touch] The deadline for this phase of the project’s completion is Tues 18 December this year. We seek your assistance to promote and support this opportunity by passing on information to Indigenous Visual Artists in your area. The site will also feature an online exhibition of the works produced within the 11 regional workshops facilitated by Warren Mason (whose artwork was the basis of the website’s logo), Gail Naden, and Lewis Burns.
