20 years ago– November1987: 
   4th November 1987-The Coonamble Shire Council has transferred a block for the building of the Shire’s first Childcare Centre.  The block is situated between the Orana Community College and the Pre-School Kindergarten.  The Committee thanks the Shire President KevinKeady and the Shire Clerk Colin Pickup.       8th November 1987-Dedication of the new Coonamble Hospital Chapel
11th November 1987-Night Rodeo Fever hits town for the 2nd year ! Last year it was John Lundholm Senior riding and this year it’s John Lundholm Junior.  Construction of Warrana Weir nears completion
18th November 1987-There will be a meeting of the Coonamble 2000 Group this week but the organization is concerned that this may be the last due to the lack of support from the community.
30 years ago– November1977:
2nd November 1977– Church on the move ! Last Tuesday was quite a day for the Combara Church of England when it was uprooted by the Lions Club and moved into the grounds of St Barnabas.
2nd November 1977– A Coonamble Shire Council workman had a narrow escape from death recently (24th October) when he was overcome by gas while sleeping in a council caravan at a remote work site.
2nd November 1977-the 50th Anniversary Scottish Flower Show and Faair a great success, and an exhibition by the Gulargambone Arts Group was held last Tuesday at the home of Mr & Mrs Noel Hubbard, Tarralea, Gulargambone.
50 years ago— November 1967:
2nd November 1967-Permewans had Specials on Arnott’s Scotch Finger Bsicuits 1/2 lb packets for 20 cents or OMO Economy size for 44 cents.
9th November 1967– Council Stays Hand– due to the non attendance of some councilors the recission motion  against the motion to clear the camping area adjacent to McDonald Park was deferred till the December meeting.
The  1967 Coonamble Show made a profit of $85.50.  The presentation of the balance sheet at the annual general meeting of the Coonamble Pastoral and Agricultural Association last week disclosed a profit of $85.50  for the year said retiring President Mr VJ Dowling in his report to the meeting
