Text Box: Report all Crime
Text Box: Tourism Destination Development Workshops
Text Box: Council is seeking the support of the community to report all crime events or any suspicious behaviour, to help improve safety for residents. It is important to report all crime to the police. Even though the police may not be able to respond immediately to an issue, it does help to build a crime profile and allows the police to allocate resources to areas where there is a known problem. Don’t hesitate because you think your information is trivial – it might be the missing link that completes a picture for investigators in relation to a crime. Residents are encouraged to report all instances of crime, including malicious damage (graffiti, broken windows, damaged letterboxes and the like). You can report non-urgent crime incidents to the Police Assistance Line on 131 444. This is a 24 hour service for the reporting of crime that does not require immediate police presence, for example; car theft, lost property, minor traffic accidents, burglary, damage to property and stealing.

Entry signs to Coonamble, Gulargambone and Quambone will be replaced using the latest population figures from the 2006 census and the town tourism logos.  The signs arrived at the Council depot today. The draft designs were presented to the Coonamble Streets Ahead, Gulargambone Flying Ahead, Quambone Resources &  Quambone Business & Tourism Services meetings in September and to the September Council meeting in Quambone.  They were also approved by the RTA & Tourism NSW TASAC Committee Meeting in July. These signs will replace the existing ‘black on white’ signs at the entry point to each town. The signs measure 2 metres high and 1 metre wide.  To find out more about TASAC click here

Representatives from Tourism NSW, Central NSW Tourism industry members and tourism managers from Gilgandra, Warrumbungle and Coonamble Shire attended a Destination Development workshop in Gilgandra at the end of August. The workshop followed a quick tour of the region by Tourism NSW. Following the workshops it was agreed that there should be an increased focus on cluster collaboration and joint activities.
