The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and  team leaders as required for specific projects  Forthcoming projects include New Coonamble Maps, Coonamble Heritage Brochure, Quambone promotional material, and a new Coonamble Shire brochure. 20 years ago– September 1987: 
   23/9/87-The Coonamble Charity Air show to be held this weekend will feature the RAAF Roulettes and the Navy Historic flight as well as a Grumman Tracker and Supermarine Spitfire.  Large crowds and a spectacular display are expected.
30/9/87-New Look Council-Dan Harvey, Dolf Klassen, Bill Lambell were defeated and Doug Moppett did not stand. New Councillors elected are Beryl Ryan, Len Scott, Bob Anderson and Noel White.
30 years ago– September 1967:
7/9/67-Quambone Progress Association Annual General meeting.  The 31st President MR W.J. Webber stated that the new baths are a great boon to the district.  Among other business he reported that a sub-committee is working on the plans to extend the railway line to Quambone.
21/9/67-The Coonamble branch of the  Rural bank advertises the latest innovation-What every modern Mrs should know !! ’The Husband and Wife cheque account’-in case he goes away and forgets to leave you any money, women can now cash a cheque or pay urgent bills.
14/9/67-Coonamble is looking forward to the annual wool festival to be held 11-16 October 1967. Candidates for the 1967  Wool Festival Princess are Miss Anne Rogers and Miss Jenny Biggs
21/9/67-The Minister for Tourism Activities, the Hon E.A. Willis MLA announces that the annual conference of NSW Regional Tourist associations would be held in Cooma from 26-28 October 1967.  Mr Brian Welsh, Tourist Officer and Cr P.F. Rogers Castlereagh Valley Tourist Association President would attend from the Coonamble area. Discussions would be held on the importance of tourism to country areas.
 50 years ago— September 1957:
19/9/57-Shire Clerk Mr Stuckey shows off the latest piece of equipment that council has purchased. An Allis Chalmers Model Super D Diesel Grader. £4572
19/9/57-Coonamble’s Place in Atomic Warfare– In the event of a H Bomb falling on Sydney Coonamble would be used as an evacuee town and council has been ordered to set up a civil defence committee.
26/9/57-At least six thousand people are expected to see New Zealand Racing driver John McMillan attempt to break the Australian land speed record this weekend on the Coonabarabran—Baradine Road in his  rebuilt Ferrari Super Squalo.
