Text Box: Coonamble Shire has been undergoing a consultation process to develop a tourism brand and slogan for the shire to be used on signage, merchandise and promotional material. Following public meetings and feedback the final two drafts are pictured below. More than 80 people attended the meetings in Gulargambone, Coonamble & Quambone during November. Fifty-one formal written submissions were received. A number of community members drew their own version of a tourism logo and many provided detailed comments. There was overwhelming support for the panel style logo allowing each town or village to have a distinct icon. More than twelve changes have been made to this logo but it has not been possible to incorporate every suggestion. To see a summary of the comments received during consultation click here.
There are a number of projects awaiting a final logo including signage, banners and merchandise.

Text Box: Issue 1, 24 January 2006
Text Box: “The initial concepts generated significant interest. A number of residents drawing their own version of a logo to represent the shire.”

The major changes  as a result of strong feedback include:

· Changing the Brolga to the Ibis and including reeds to signify the Macquarie Marshes.

· Using an exact replica of the existing Gulargambone Logo

· Using more ‘earthy’ colours

· Replacing the Rodeo horse with the rodeo bull and including flames in the background symbolising the fire of 1929.

· Adding a fourth panel with an emu and interior designed by a local Aboriginal artist to acknowledge  Indigenous heritage in the shire

Consultation must close on 8th February 2006 so we can start using the logo and tagline.

Please provide any comments on the final concept and your preferred tagline by clicking here.
