The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and  team leaders as required for specific projects  Forthcoming projects include a Coonamble Heritage Brochure, Quambone promotional material, and a new Coonamble Shire brochure. Courses are: Beauty Therapy - Nails, Beauty Therapy - Make-up, Horse Industry Skills, Welding, Radio Broadcasting, Hairdressing, Children’s Services, Hospitality, Primary Industries, Construction and Retail.

Text Box: Headlines from the December Coonamble Times 
10 years ago– December1996: 
   11th December 1996– over 200 people attended the annual ‘Homecare’ Christmas lunch at the Coonamble Bowling Club.  Margaret Finn and Thelma Leonard providing the entertainment with their singing.
3rd December 1996– the Coonamble Youth Centre in Castlereagh Street holds a public meeting to discuss the planned indoor sports complex to be built at the rear of the existing premises.
20 years ago– December 1986:
Coonamble Rodeo Rider John Lundholm Jr is roughriding in the USA.  Comes 2nd behind World Champion Marty Hudson in the Saddle Bronc Championships.
2nd December 1986:  The $900,000 Gulargambone automated exchange is switched on at 8am for the first time.  The outgoing senior telephonist  Lyn Windsor is thanked for maintaining the switchboard service for many years.
10th December 1986: The Coonamble Branch of the National Bank is now offering full travel agency booking services with travel consultants Anne Jones & Michelle Davis.
17th December 1986:  A quantity of army uniforms and equipment is stolen from the Coonamble High School Cadet storeroom.
50 years ago— December 1956:
The damage from a serious accident at the Coonamble Catholic Race Club meeting on 24th November 1956 is still to be repaired.  A number of jockeys were injured (3 seriously) and 11 panels of fencing were destroyed .
10th & 11th December:The Plaza Theatre is currently screening ‘Camile’ with Greta Garbo
10th December 1956: The Warrumbungles National Park Trust has released details of prizes in the Photography competition to promote the Park.  Over £130  is on offer.
13th December 1956: Cr F Simpson elected Shire President and Cr P Cullen Deputy.
Coonamble Freezing Works announces Holiday trading for Xmas 56: Ice will be sold from 6am to 6pm daily (Sundays 8am-11am), closed Xmas and New Years Day.  Milk & Cold Storage are same trading as ice.  Rabbits:  NO MORE RABBITS will be received after 22nd December.
