Text Box: We had a fantastic response to the first newsletter and thank you to everyone who emailed comments and subscribed. We now have almost 300 receiving this bulletin. For those that do not have access to the internet hard copies of this newsletter are available from Cottage Industries and the Council Administration Centre. There are so many things happening this month including a bid for a major event, signage developments, a new historic walking brochure, and our new logo! As well as our regular features such as industry meetings, regional events and this month in the past.
We recently hosted over 30 tourism managers from Central NSW and Sydney at two eight two eight, Gulargambone and the feedback we received on that visit has been excellent.
As part of our membership of Central NSW Tourism a PR/Media company will be seeking National media coverage for attractions, events and characters within the Shire.
Text Box: The Shire recently had a visit from the Tourism Attraction Signposting Accreditation Committee (TASAC) which is a joint RTA and Tourism NSW committee. On their way to a meeting in Coonabarabran the committee made a site visit to the shire to assess the current standard of signage. There were some minor issues identified with welcome and directional signage but the TASAC committee did have some concerns over business signage in the main street. To view their comments click here or to find out more about TASAC click here.
Coonamble & Gulargambone will feature in the new Newell Highway brochure. This publication has a circulation of around 150,000 and our advert encourages travelers to take a diversion via Gulargambone & Coonamble. For a sneak preview of our page click here.
Until next month !
Steven Baldwin Tourism Development Manager Coonamble Shire Council
