Despite the cold and wet weather there was a large number of visitors to town for the Rodeo and preliminary figures show approximately 3000 people attended the event. There were plenty of activities on around town and the Bush poets Breakfast and the Quilting exhibition were again popular. Our Campbelltown visitors were impressed and the food vans did a roaring trade in ‘seafood baskets’. See www.coonamble.org/rodeo for full results |

Thank you to all those who helped with the Bush Poets breakfast on a (very) wet Saturday morning. The Showground pavilion was an ideal location among the horses and around 80 people heard our guest poet, Frank Daniel. The Coonamble Streets Ahead Committee has been working with the Moorambilla Festival planned for September and has assisted with the employment of a local coordinator to pull together the various community elements of this festival. We are presenting ‘The Forwards’ by the Zeal Theatre group on 1 August. CLICK HERE. Don’t forget ‘Songs in the key of Bloke’ and all men in the region are invited to be part of this unique event. The committee next meets on 20th July 2006 at the Coonamble Bowling Club.
