Text Box: The Coonamble Shire Tourism Task Force  (CSTTF) has been formed to involve community and industry in the development of tourism in the shire.   The task force is so named as unlike a traditional committee the task force will only meet when necessary to progress specific projects.  The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and  team leaders as required. Forthcoming projects in 2006 include Coonamble Heritage Brochure and new Shire tourism brochure. For further information and to join call (02) 6827 1936 or email.

14th July 1966-The Castlereagh Valley Tourist Association is to have a documentary colour film made of the feature tourist attractions in the area. The decision was reached at the association meeting held in Coonamble Monday last. The CVTA comprises the shires of Gilgandra, Coonabarabran & Coonamble and the film will cost $1700 and have ABC screenings.  It was also decided to purchase a quantity of pennants to be sold to tourists visiting the town during holiday periods, Cr PH Cullen explained.

Wedding Bells: LUPPINO-ZUMBO: Saturday 4th July 1953 9am Frances, only daughter of the late Tony Luppino and Mrs Luppino of Yarran Street married Francis, son of Mr and Mrs F Zumbo, South Italy at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Catholic Church.
The AGM of the Coonamble District Band will take place in the Band Room at 8pm on 23rd July 1953. Bandmaster Harry Sloggett would like to see parents of all band boys and all bandsmen at the meeting.
The Coonamble Chamber of Commerce has taken Butlers Airways to task over timetable and inadequate airline services to Coonamble and the region.
80 years ago— July 1926

Coroneos Bros desire to inform the public of Coonamble that from 1 July they have taken over the Busy Bee refreshment rooms previously conducted by Messrs J & J Cordato.

Rates for both sheep and lambs were lower at Homebush last  Monday with only 23,000 offered from Coonamble. Mutton made 2 3/4d to 4d per lb, Hoggets and lambs 4d to 6 1/2 d per lb.  Mr W G Taylor, Coonamble secured 27/5 for merino wethers and Mr Joseph McDowell, Coonamble 27/1 for ewes.
Coonamble Times & Castlereagh apologise for shortcomings as there has been no power available in town the whole week and parts for the printing press  were unavailable.
