Text Box: Welcome to our Rodeo edition ! As this email goes out the town is really coming alive in preparation for the 51st Coonamble Rodeo. We will be hosting a delegation from our sister council, Campbelltown City Council which will include Councillor Paul Hawker and Campbelltown Showgirl Susan Rea.  There will be a Campbelltown Display at the event promoting their region. Campbelltown Council has also commissioned a saddle to be used as a prize at the event. It is great to see so many businesses extending their hours or creating special displays for the rodeo.  For a full list of what is happening this weekend click here. The two new entry signs for the Shire have just been installed in time for the Rodeo and the remaining four will be installed during the next month. Wilber Farmhouse in the New Tourism Development category and two eight two eight in the Tourism Retailing category.  Congratulations to both these businesses for the considerable work involved with submitting an entry. Text Box: How is tourism administered in Australia?  Tourism Australia is the Federal Government statutory authority responsible for international and domestic tourism marketing as well as the delivery of research and forecasts for the sector.  Tourism Australia was established on 1 July 2004, bringing together the collective skills and knowledge of four separate organisations: the Australian Tourist Commission; See Australia; the Bureau of Tourism Research and Tourism Forecasting Council.  Tourism Australia recently launched the “So where the Bloody hell are you” campaign.                                                       
Text Box: At the NSW State level Tourism New South Wales is the New South Wales State Government agency charged with the promotion and development of tourism.   
Tourism is worth over $23 billion to the New South Wales economy and employs over 8% of the workforce.   
Funding for Tourism in NSW has been announced with the latest NSW Budget handed down last week.  To see a summary of the major projects funded click here
