Text Box: The Coonamble Rodeo & Campdraft Committee has been working hard this year to promote the event and are looking towards a large crowd.  People have been arriving all week and the Motels and Hotels are full !   
The marketing committee has produced a poster and brochure this year and has advertised extensively across print, radio and TV.    The posters and brochures have been well received and Rodeo association members have assisted to distribute these across the Eastern States and even South Australia !  This year the Rodeo commissioned John laws to record a 30 second Radio commercial and this has been heard on 2WEB Outback Radio during the last month. Text Box:  The 2006 RIDE THE SPIRIT BUSINESS ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS for the Coonamble Shire have been launched .  This year Coonamble Shire welcomes Coonamble Rural Transaction Centre Inc. as a sponsoring partner for the district’s awards.  Nominations close at 5pm Friday 21st July, 2006.   The winners will be announced at a special function to be held in Coonamble on Saturday 9th September. The Smith park Tourist information signs are about to be constructed and the information to be on the signs is being finalised. To see what the signs will look like click here.

Text Box: A successful workshop was held at Quambone Public School on the 13th May to develop a touring route and visitor brochure for the village.  Paul Hely from Studio 218 and his wife joined members of the community in discussing what needed to be included in the brochure.

The Coonamble Streets Ahead Committee  has an exciting suite of events planned for the year.  This weekend the committee will trial holding the ‘Bush Poets Breakfast’ within the Rodeo & Campdraft precinct at the showground pavilion and are very fortunate to have renowned bush poet Frank Daniel as guest poet. Streets Ahead will also be assisting with the Moorambilla Festival.    Streets Ahead was  successful with their application for NSW Regional Arts CASP funding for ‘Songs in the key of Bloke’ and all men in the region are invited to be part of this unique event.
