The Smith park Tourist information signs are about to be constructed and the information to be on the signs is being finalised. To see what the signs will look like click here. The signs will include a local map, regional map, service information including motels, hotels, clubs and places to eat. There will also be the opportunity for local businesses to purchase advertising on the signs. The Coonamble Streets Ahead Committee has an exciting suite of events planned for the year. This weekend the committee will trial holding the ‘Bush Poets Breakfast’ within the Rodeo & Campdraft precinct at the showground pavilion and are very fortunate to have renowned bush poet Frank Daniel as guest poet. Streets Ahead will also be assisting with the Moorambilla Festival. Streets Ahead was successful with their application for NSW Regional Arts CASP funding for ‘Songs in the key of Bloke’ and all men in the region are invited to be part of this unique event. The committee next meets on 15th June 2006 at the Coonamble Bowling Club and meetings are open to all.
