Text Box: The Coonamble Shire Tourism Task Force (CSTTF) has been formed to involve community and industry in the development of tourism in the shire. The task force is so named as unlike a traditional committee the task force will only meet when necessary to progress specific projects. The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and team leaders as required. Coonamble Bow Hunters stage a successful field shoot at their range 10km from Coonamble. 7-9th June 1986-Coonamble Rodeo-President John Lundholm reports near record figures of 800 competitors and 3000 spectators attended the event. Over 800 people attended and hundreds more turned away. 3rd June 1956- Coonamble Footballers had their easiest victory for several years when they defeated Quambone 80-8 in the Group 14 CRFL competition at Coonabarabran Oval. The Coonamble reserves also defeated Quambone by 30 points. Soldiers settlement controversy .
