The task force is so named as unlike a traditional committee the task force will only meet when necessary to progress specific projects. The Tourism Development Manager will provide the secretariat, distribute a monthly newsletter and form teams and team leaders as required. Coonamble community shocked by the sudden death of Sgt John Ford, Officer in Charge of Coonamble Police Station. Sgt Ford, 46, suffered a heart attack whilst scoring a squash game at the Coonamble Squash Centre. Rumours that the Ambulance took 45 minutes to arrive were dismissed by police.
