Text Box: Tamworth Regional Council has released the plans and architectural drawings for the proposed new Australian Equine and Livestock Centre to be built near the Longyard precinct in Tamworth. The final plan also has some new and exciting commercial features & late additions to the original concept first launched in 2004. Mayor James Treloar says a new stock selling complex, a truck wash facility, upgraded warm-up area and campdraft arena have been added. The Coonamble Branch of the CWA hosted a successful late morning tea and light lunch following the ANZAC day service on 25th April.  Exhibitions of military ephemera, tables under the trees and a collection of mouthwatering treats tempted visitors and locals alike.

Text Box:  Last week the NSW Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation, Sandra Nori launched the CountryLink Inland NSW Tourism Awards for 2006.  In 2004 & 2005 this region (Central NSW) attracted the highest number of entries and had considerable success.  two eight two eight at Gulargambone took out the award for New Tourism Development.  Entries close on 2nd June 2006 and the Presentation Night will be held on the 30th July at Wagga Wagga. The ORDB co-sponsors a business survey conducted by the Western Research Institute that is aimed at quantifying the state of the region’s business and economic growth. In order to make the results viable and representative of the entire region, they need to have as many responses as possible.
