The Moorambilla Festival was held in Coonamble for the first time from 15th-17th September with choirs from Sydney and around the state joining a regional boys choir in bringing music to Coonamble.  Around 150 enthusiastic visitors joined locals to bring music to venues around town including the Plaza Theatre, Old Monterey Café, Cants Hardware store and even the RTC building.  The event started with a Rodeo & spitroast on the Friday night and included workshops and concerts around the main street.  The Gala concert on Saturday night packed the Catholic Church and was followed by a bushdance at the Anglican Hall.  Community groups and volunteers worked tirelessly to make the event a success and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.  Next year the focus will be on ‘women and girls’.  For more information visit: www.moorambilla.com
