Text Box: Country Racing
Text Box: There were four race meetings held across the Shire during September/October and these were promoted as the Country Racing Festival. All events were successful with some drawing large numbers of visitors. Council created web sites for each of the jockey clubs and assisted with advertising and media coverage. The Races were: Marthaguy Picnic Races, Come-By Chance Picnic Races, Coonamble Gold Cup & the Gulargambone Gold Cup.

Text Box: Claim the Date ! The New year is rapidly approaching and very few events in the Shire have confirmed their dates for 2007. The lead time for major media outlets can be up to six months so the earlier we know the more publicity can be generated. Council also lists events on the Coonamble web site for no charge and forwards this information for listing on State and National calendars. A PDF version of the 2007 Draft Coonamble Shire Events Calendar can be downloaded by clicking here. Or the current calendar is listed at :

If your event is not listed or does not have dates please email: tourism@coonambleshire.nsw.gov.au
