The
“Buttonhole” Garden has been a haven for John and myself for two years
since our retirement from the family property near Quambone. It is situated
on three house blocks with well established trees and an old style home. The
garden was well cared for but with the previous owners both working full
time and two young children to care for, gardening time must have been
limited. We have
not carried out any structural changes, only removing a couple of trees, two
very old climbing roses and a large bush rose which did not receive enough
sunlight. That is the major problem I find, as I have tried to establish
plants in areas where there was not enough sunlight. As time goes by I am
learning from my failures. Another big job is cutting back trees, hedges and
shrubs, so John is well known at the local tip. We have plans for future garden improvements, but oh for a little professional advice. In the meantime it is such fun to work and play in our garden and enjoy the colourful display from time to time as well as summer shade. Directions: 1 King Street COONAMBLE - see map for directions |
