Quambone - Gateway to the Marshes
- is a small village 55 kilometres west of Coonamble and 18 Kilometres
from the Macquarie Marshes and is well worth a visit. Quambone has a
small two teacher school set in pleasant surroundings, Australia's
smallest library, two churches, a friendly Hotel/Motel and Store.
Quambone's main attractions are the Macquarie
Marshes, The Marthaguy
Picnic Races held in July, Quambone Polocrosse Carnival held in
July/August and the Nature Reserve Open Day on the October Long
Weekend. Camping facilities are available at the Quambone Race Track
