WALK THROUGH HISTORIC COONAMBLE - call into the
Coonamble Visitor Information Centre located at Cottage
Industries in Castlereagh Street for a map and information visiting the
Castlereagh river, the museum, the churches, courthouse and
other historic Coonamble buildings. |

WARRENA WEIR
- Take a picnic down to the Warrena Weir for an
afternoon of swimming, water skiing and soaking up the sun.
Toilets, undercover picnic tables and a boat ramp are
available for use. A picturesque and refreshing walk can be
made on the other side of the weir along the raised levy….
Sunrise is the perfect time of day for this!

RESTAURANTS
- Enjoy good country cooking at one of the many
pubs, clubs or restaurants in town. Friendly, efficient
service, weekend entertainment and sunny beer gardens are a
feature with reasonable pricing and drinks available. For a
romantic dinner, visit the Wagon Wheels Restaurant or for a
café style lunch drop in at the Gumnut.

COONAMBLE
POOL
- The Coonamble Swimming Pool is open for business from
October to March in between 6am and 9am, 1pm and 6pm. Swim in
the shade provided at each end of the 50m Olympic Pool or
watch the kids play in the shade of the toddlers or Child’s
pool.

SMITH
PARK
- Spend the afternoon lazing in leafy Smith park reading a
good book or merely watching the world go by. Located on the
banks of the Castlereagh River you can easily walk down to
this underground river’s sandy bed or pop across the road to
the Shell Service Station for a cold drink or snack. Toilets
and a rotunda are located at the park.

COUNTRY
PUBS
- Visit one of the country pubs that the Coonamble Shire
houses – whether it be one of the four in town or any of
those in the outlying villages of Quambone, Gulargambone, Come
By Chance, Tooraweenah, Baradine, Pilliga or Carinda. For
rustic charm, warm hospitality and icy cold beer, be sure to
experience a Coonamble Country Pub during your visit.

Stroll up Castlereagh St and browse its many shops. Clothing,
